Infinite

Lion the Alone said he wanted to go to Mars
A one way ticket to see the stars up close
and never come back
I asked him why

He said because it's Infinite
and what a shame to not grasp as much as he can
He stretched his hands over the night sky riddled with stars
as if he can catch stardust if he tried

I looked at him in silence
And then to the darkened sea
I recalled that there are infinite infinities
And how people think some are bigger than others

But they are all the same.
Just as how much wonder there is in a galaxy,
there is equal mystery in the deep sea
Just as we cannot comprehend God
We cannot fully comprehend man

Everyone pursues the infinity that intrigue them
And attempt to colour every shade to show their majesty
They spend their whole life pursuing or pining
Grabbing crumbs of happiness as they go.

I see it everywhere
I told Lion that I too
Loved infinite things
and laid down.

I see it in him.
